Farmers Insurance Open Volunteer (Shot Link) 2014
This will be the second year volunteering for the FIO and I am excited to be assigned to the #1 hole on the south course. The Shot Link Team is vital to the statistics that go to pgatour.com, DIRECTV, ESPN, Golf Channel and the many other network that are associated with broadcasting the event.
Today was our volunteer party with over 1500 volunteers for this years tournament assisting the PGA Tour. I am honored to be one of the 1500 that will make this years tournament a success.

Try to have the most technological savvy volunteers working as laser operators
ShotLink is becoming more important every year. Television is heavily dependent on the data for their telecast, media members use ShotLink data for their articles, Twitter feeds and other social media apps, and on-course scoreboards and video boards display the information to enhance the patron experience. Additionally, with the ever-increasing use of the internet and smartphone apps, people all over the world are watching this information real-time.
In summary, we need the most technologically savvy volunteers we can get in order to produce a product that your tournament can be proud of.
See you out on the course! Stop by and say hello.
